Senseo Coffee Pods, Dark Roast,18 Count (Pack of 6)

Can’t find Senseo coffee, here’s the story

Years ago Philips and Douwe Egberts were partners in the development of the machine and coffee pods. The copyright on the pod system was ruled invalid and a decision was made to offer the pods via on line vendors only; no more brick and mortar stores. Philips then sold their share of the coffee business to Douwe Egberts and are moving pod production to Brazil. This is causing the delay, especially with the Dark Roast. According to Senseo the coffee should be by June or July at the latest. Or so they say. I am surprised that they have not made this info more available. Seems like many will simply move on to another coffee machine. Meanwhile try using a regular coffee filter and espresso grind your own coffee. I’ve tried Starbucks coffee and not bad. Less creama, but good flavor. Google ‘make your own coffee pods’ to see the methods used to trim the filter and pack the coffee. It’s easy, but not so easy as dropping two pods and pushing the start button.

QUALITY OF “NEW’ SENSEO DARK ROAST IS AWFUL!

We’ve been using Senseo Dark Roast for at least 8 years, with 14+ Senseo Machines in that time(family). We can’t get Senseo in Canada, so we have it, and the machines, shipped in volume to Buffalo, drive 90 minutes, and pick it up there, so we’ve been real believers in the brand. I’ve never written a negative review about anything until now. Since it disappeared off the market last year for about 4 months, then came back at a higher price, the quality sucks! It’s very inconsistent, very disappointing, bad at best on a good day, bitter, hard to drink, does not foam. It got so bad with the Senseo dark, that we couldn’t even drink it, and really enjoy our morning coffees. We purchased a Nespresso Latissima machine, and it’s great, but wanted to keep using the Senseo too. We started buying Melita dark roast pods for the Senseo machine and they’re good, consistent in quality, cheaper (not the change impetus,) and makes continuing with the Senseo machine, and driving to Buffalo,…

great coffee

My husband’s favorite coffee! If you like a dark, french roast- you’ll like this one, plus it has the terrific Senseo creamy foam on top! A nice way to start the morning or finish off a great evening meal.
