Makes restaurant quality cappuccino!
I own the cow motif mukka, and purchased these for my daughters. It is truly fabulous, as long as you follow the very simple directions. Don’t overfill the water and don’t compress the espresso and you’ll be fine. Illi espresso works best for us. I’ve mixed half chocolate milk with skim for a mocha, but the best is half eggnog and half skim topped with a dusting of nutmeg. I also heat the milk first as I like mine very hot. It takes less than 4 min on my gas stovetop. Bialetti wins with this one!
Makes great Capuccino, but is a little too smal. Doesn’ make very good Lattes
I really like the taste (better than Starbucks’ Capuccinos, I think) of the Capuccinos made by this unit. I would use the unit all the time if my stove had the standard smaller gas burners. However the 3-3/4 inch diameter “sealed” burners on my stove shoot out a flame ring that is just too wide for the 4-1/4 inch diameter of the base unit and it takes me 12 minutes to brew, not the 2-1/2 minutes stated by the manual. But I use it whenever I’ve the time.
I tried Lattes produced by this unit but really wasn’t impressed.
This is the largest Mukka Express version said to make 2 cups, but I think the unit is a bit small for American tastes. I’d call this one a 3/4 cup unit. Bialetti needs to make a 3 cup version for the US. One can cheat with this unit by adding water to the base unit up to the upper line (- the upper line is intended for lattes, while the lower fill line is supposed to be for capuccinos) and put the recommended amount of milk in the upper unit. Received the parcel today. Took me a month waiting for this product.
But it worths the wait. This coffee maker is excellent, it’s very handy and easy to make cappuccino and latte!
