Bodum Red Chambord 8-Cup Coffee Maker

Don’t do red – misinformation – The top is not dishwasher safe the paint peels off

I have had this coffee press for about a year and I love it. Recently the top was put in the dishwasher. The review says it’s dishwasher safe. Now the red is pealing off. It looks pretty ugly.

Amazon was great but they really need to fix the description. Amazon sent me a label and I sent back the coffee maker and they replaced the coffee maker right away with one day shipping.

The new coffee maker has a label that says the top and the red holder should be washed by hand. The plunger screen and the glass pot can be washed in the dishwasher.

update: I received the replacement and have only had it about a month. It was never put in the dishwasher and only washed by hand, yet the red on the top is starting to peel. Really disappointed.

After corresponding with 4 different people at Amazon they finally agreed to take it back. This time I had to pay for the shipping. I believe this is a manufacturers defect and I don’t think I should have to pay…

Great for 1-2 people

This small french press makes 1.5 cups of coffee, not 8. It is handy an easy to clean. The glass and plunger are even dishwasher safe!

The red is not as pictured. It’s more of a brassy-coppery red which does not match other red appliances.

Solid product

I bought this french press for my wife, who swears that it is a much better method than using an automatic brewer. I personally think that it takes a bit longer and the taste difference is negligible; however, this review will contain none of my slight anti-french press feelings!

It’s a beautiful, and solidly constructed piece of coffee equipment. There are three essential pieces; the glass, the metal holder container/handle, and the top/plunger/mesh filter. The mesh filter does a pretty good job of making sure you won’t be drinking little bits of ground coffee, and the top is splash proof, going completely over the glass. I personally think that the glass and metal parts fit together a little bit too snugly, having to force it in a little; that could have just been a fluke, however.

Cleaning the Bodum French Press is very simple. Although the product description on Amazon states that it is dishwasher safe, which I totally disagree with. I have noticed, however,…
